Please, if you find yourself in need of help, ask! Please do not leave animals behind if you need to move. Don't turn them loose if you can't keep them. Don't give up if they need medical you can not afford. There are agencies that help. If we can't help there are others who can. There's always someone somewhere. Here is a list of agencies and I will add more as I find them.
AAHA HELPING PETS FUND

Based in Denver, Colorado, the AAHA Helping Pets Fund provides financial assistance when people cannot afford veterinary care for their pets. Through its Foundation, the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) created the AAHA Helping Pets Fund in 2004 to help those in need access quality veterinary care for sick or injured pets. We can help in three types of cases:
 | When pet owners are receiving certain forms of government assistance for low-income individuals |
| When pet owners are experiencing a temporary financial hardship |
| When a veterinary practice acts as a Good Samaritan and no pet owner exists |
The Fund does not accept applications from individuals. Only AAHA-accredited veterinary practices can apply for a grant on behalf of the pet in need. Assistance is limited to $700 per AAHA-accredited practice per calendar year. The maximum available to each family is $500 per year and $1000 lifetime.

Headquartered in El Dorado Hills, California, Angels4Animals, a non-profit organization and a program of Inner Voice Community Services, has a mission to serve as the guardian angel of animals whose caretakers find themselves in difficult financial situations. At Angels4Animals we believe that animal owners should not have to say goodbye to the animals that they love. Our work is accomplished in conjunction with veterinary clinics across the country, eager to assist as many animals, and their owners, as possible. Our services range from financial aid to complete treatment to those pets and pet owners in need.

Based in Costa Mesa, California, CareCredit is a personal line of credit, specifically designed for healthcare expenses, that makes it easier for you to get the treatment or procedures you want and need. CareCredit can be used at over 90,000 participating practices nationwide. (Read terms very carefully, as with any credit contract).
CATS IN CRISIS
The mission of Cats in Crisis to assist individuals who have exhausted all other financial means to provide the necessary medical care their cat needs. Due to the volume of applications, we cannot help everyone. Decisions are based on several factors including: medical urgency, available funding, eligibility and financial need.
Our grants are typically in the amount of $150, but are determined on a case by case basis. We do offer the opportunity for caretakers to fundraise on our website as well. Payments made to veterinarians, pharmacies or animal welfare organizations; not individuals/caretakers. Read guidelines carefully (Apply for Financial Aid section); eligibility is very specific.
CORGIAID, INC
CorgiAid is a nonprofit organization founded to provide financial assistance to Cardigan and Pembroke Welsh corgis and corgi mixes. We help out those who rescue dogs from shelters or other non-permanent homes, then foster them until a new home is found. Medical and other expenses for these dogs can become high; CorgiAid gathers donations from those who want to help, and, within our funding guidelines, and gets funds to those recuers who apply for help.

The Feline Veterinary Emergency Assistance Program headquartered in Yuba City, California, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides financial assistance to cat and kitten guardians who are unable to afford veterinary services to save their companions when life-threatening illness or injury strikes. Services are provided nationwide. Qualifications are very specific, so be sure to click on Funding Guidelines when visiting the site.

The Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon is a trap-neuter-return program for feral cats. FCCO’s mobile hospital no longer serves the Eugene area, but does serve some of the surrounding areas. The only cats eligible for the clinics are stray, feral, or abandoned cats who are not part of a human family, but are being fed consistently by a caregiver. To schedule cats for one of the clinics, FCCO must hear directly from the caregiver. FCCO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies entirely on donations. Must be able to raise $25 per cat plus $500 per clinic held, for FCCO.

Florence Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) limited intake, "No Kill" animal welfare agency. As a private non-profit organization, we receive no public funds and our animal intake is limited to the Siuslaw and Mapleton School District boundaries. Our principal focus is the rescue, socialization, rehabilitation and placement of unwanted, abandoned, abused, or stray animals. We provide financial aid to our community's senior and low income families who wish to spay or neuter their companion animal or who have medical emergencies for their pets. Based in Hinsdale, Illinois, HELP-A-PET is a nonprofit organization which provides nationwide financial assistance for the medical care of pets of physically and mentally challenged individuals, senior citizens, and children of the working poor. Most assistance goes to perform surgeries, but some assistance is available for preventive and curative treatments. Every penny donated is used to help pets - all payments are made directly to the veterinarian or medical supplier. Application required.

LABMED
Founded in 1996, LABMED is an Internet-based non-profit organization created to distribute financial aid to injured or ill rescues around the country, giving them a second chance at adoption and love from a permanent family.LABMED will accept applications for assistance for rescued Labrador Retrievers or Labrador Retriever mixes from any group or organization or from any individual who is of legal age (18 years).
MAGIC BULLET FUND
The Magic Bullet Fund provides financial assistance to pay for canine cancer treatments and medicines when the owners cannot. With our financial assistance, the canines we serve receive state-of-the-art veterinary cancer support for their conditions. The Fund’s mission is to provide cancer treatment for dogs whose caretakers are unable to provide treatment. These are dogs who would not have cancer treatment at all without our assistance.
The Fund’s secondary mission is to heighten public awareness about canine cancer through our ongoing educational efforts. We firmly believe that this work will result in measurable improvement in canine cancer prevention and early detection.
The Magic Bullet Fund is a program of the Perseus Foundation, a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization that supports research and public education about cancer in companion animals. Requirements are specific, so please read carefully.

ORTHODOGS' SILVER LINING
Headquartered in Owasso, Oklahoma, OSL was started by a small group of people who wanted to find a way to provide some relief for caregivers who were struggling to help their pets lead a healthy life. Through our personal experiences, having met via the Yahoo group called 'Orthodogs', we understood the particular difficulties of providing orthopedic care. Through the experiences of those close to us, we understood that companions of service dogs often face unimaginable hardships in trying to provide healthcare for their amazing canines. Our goal is to provide access to fundraising resources, and make emergency funds available for exceptional cases. OSLF is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization.
Applicants should consider OSLF as their last resort to obtain financial assistance, and should have exhausted all other possibilities. In most cases, applicants will be asked to provide a summary of their attempts to obtain other funding, which may include a loan denial from Care Credit. Applicants will be asked to provide proof that they do not have the resources necessary to provide medical care for their dog.

The Pet Fund assists owners in covering medical costs beyond the normal expenses of vaccination, spay and neuter surgeries, food and routine veterinary care. The Pet Fund provides need-based financial assistance for the benefit of owners of domestic animals in order to provide for such animals’ urgent veterinary care needs (where serious medical care is needed beyond routine procedures) including treatment, surgery, and medications. Located in Sacramento, California, the LifeLine program provides grants for companion animals during life-threatening emergencies when rescuers or caregivers cannot afford the entire cost of treatment. The mission of LifeLine is to help homeless or recently rescued animals suffering from life-threatening conditions that require specific and immediate emergency veterinary care. We strive to serve Good Samaritans and rescue groups who take in sick or injured animals. In certain cases, LifeLine can also assist senior citizens and low-income families pay for immediate emergency veterinary care.
